ELKINS, AR - It was another successful outing for the PCCA Cross Country team on Saturday in Elkins. Both the varsity boys and junior high girls took home first place finishes.
Junior
Caleb Ryan was the first Patriot runner to cross the finish line in the 5K varsity boy's race, placing fourth! Junior
Ben Siemens came in eighth with a personal best time of 19:01.
Ethan Maline,
Gramm Bertram, and
Ben Jones all earned individual awards finishing in the top fifteen.
William Bowen made big strides with a personal best of 20:20 and a twentieth-place finish.
Four varsity girls from PCCA took part in the 5K competition.
Kendall Griggs had a personal best of 24:04 and finished eighth.
Ellie Bishop and
Mary Hyatt both earned individual awards finishing in the top fifteen.
Madelyn Gray also had a great race with a twentieth-place finish.
The junior high girls were led by Gabbie Bishop with a second-place finish in the two-mile race. Zoe Miller, Layla Maline, Jane Adams, and Madeline Cristafaro all earned individual awards with top fifteen finishes. Sophia Hyatt,
McKenzie Most, and Brooklyn Bertram had great races shaving over 45 seconds off their times from last year's race at Elkins.
Ayden Barrow came in third in the two-mile junior varsity boy's race. Elijah McCollough finished close behind in fourth place and took over 2 minutes off his time at the same race from last year!
The day began with the one-mile fun run. Six patriots competed in the race with Maggie Bishop finishing first among all female runners. 3 Providence elemntary entrants earned medals.
The Patriot Cross Country team will compete next Saturday at the Panther XC Classic in Siloam Springs.
