SILOAM SPRINGS - The Providence Patriots competed in the Panther XC Classic on Saturday, ranked the second biggest meet in Arkansas.
The Lady Patriots took 1st place as a team, led by underclassmen Jane Adam's and
Layla Maline.
Jane Adams (9th) took first with a massive personal best of 19:36.89,
Layla Maline (10th) took 3rd, and Senior
Ellie Bishop finished 12th.
Madelyn Gray and
Mary Hyatt rounded out the scorers.
The Varsity Boys took second as a team in a very competitive field. Senior
Ethan Maline set a school record with a time of 16:51.54, finishing 3rd in the 1A-4A classification. Sophomore
Winston Harp was second on the providence team with a personal best of 17:55.10, finishing 12th. Junior
Jayden Reed (13th), and Senior
Ben Jones (20th) also placed. Sophomore
Joseph Brooks rounded out the scorers with a 24th place finish.
For junior high, Maggie Bishop (8th) dominated the girls race to 1st place overall finish, breaking her own school record with a time of 11:31.48. In addition, Freshman
Liam Casteel took 20th in the 1A-4A junior high boys race.
UP NEXT - The Varsity Patriot XC teams will travel to Stillwater, OK this Saturday to compete in the OSU Stampede.
