VAN BUREN - The Providence Cross Country Team raced in the Van Buren XC Classic on Saturday.
The Varsity Boys placed 2nd in the 1A-4A division, continuing their trend of being one of the states small school Cross Country powerhourses.
Ethan Maline broke his own school record with a time of 16:49.17, finishing 3rd in the 1A-4A class.
Winston Harp,
Jayden Reed,
Joseph Brooks, and
Ben Jones rounded out the scoring members.
The Varsity Girls also placed 2nd in the 1A-4A division, led by
Jane Adams who ran a massive personal best of 18:38.97, en route to a first place overall finish.
Layla Maline placed 5th, and
Ellie Bishop,
Mary Hyatt, and
Madelyn Gray all ran personal bests to round out the scorers.
For junior high, Maggie Bishop continued her undefeated season winning by a dominating 59 seconds with a time of 11:19.17. In addition,
Allison Till placed 12th, and
Liam Casteel took 15th in a very competitive junior high boys race.
UP NEXT - The team has two races left in the season, the Gravette Invitational on the 17th, and the HCAA Conference Championships on the 27th.
