Providence Competes at the Har-Ber Golf Invitational

Cave Springs, AR-  The Providence Academy golf teams participated in the Har-Ber Golf Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Creeks Course. The boys team was again led by Connor Guthrie's strong play. Guthrie began the day by birdies on two and three before a bogey on the ninth put him at -1 at he turn. He finished his round at plus 2 (74) three shots behind Rogers High Jacob Peetoon at -1 (71).  Cooper Laney played a consistent round and ended up in a tie for fifth place with a season low round of 82. The team finished in third.
The Providence girls were led in scoring by Rachel Siemens. After a a career low tying first nine holes, Rachel went on to complete a solid round that placed her fourth overall, highlighted by a 25 foot par saving putt on the 13th hole.  First place was claimed by Har-Ber HS Claire Bowden with an 86. The girls finished third overall as a team.
NEXT UP: The golfers will round out the fall portion of their schedule September 22 at Shadow Valley CC vs Union Christian in a dual match.
