About

Providence Patriots

At Providence Academy, athletics are more than just competition—they are a training ground for character, perseverance, and teamwork. Whether on the field, court, or track, our athletes learn to lead with integrity, push beyond their limits, and honor Christ in every moment of the game. Whether wearing a jersey for the first time or competing at the highest level, every athlete is encouraged to give their best, grow in character, and embrace the joy of the journey.

Athletic Department Mission

The Athletic Department at Providence Classical Christian Academy (PCCA) exists as a direct extension of the school, supporting the mission of partnering with parents in a classical, college-preparatory education to equip students with a biblical worldview, all to God's Glory (Matthew 5:13-16).

Our programs are built on the foundation of the Patriot Pillars: S.T.A.R.S

Servanthood (John 12:26)

Trust (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Accountability (Romans 12:1)

Resiliency (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)

Sportsmanship (Luke 6:31).

These principles guide our athletes and coaches as we strive to glorify God in all aspects of competition, fostering a culture that reflects Christ-like character. Our goal is to transform the way athletics are viewed on our campus, in our community, throughout the region, and, as opportunity allows, around the world. Together, we build champions for Christ (Philippians 2:13-16).

Athletic Department Goals

1. Distinct Christian Culture: Our athletic programs are unique because we strive to be Christ-centered and honor Him in all we do. When people play against PCCA or watch our teams compete, they should see our faith on display as we seek to shine as lights in a dark world (Philippians 2:5).

2. Spiritual Development and Growth: We are not only growing and developing student-athletes; we are discipling followers of Christ. We desire to see our athletes grow in their faith.

3. Competitive Excellence: We embrace the challenges of competition and strive to compete at a high level, all to God’s glory. Competitive excellence is boldly pursued with discipline, determination, and an unrelenting drive to compete at the highest level, all while honoring God and demonstrating Christ-like character both on and off the field or court.

4. Partnership with Parents: We welcome healthy partnerships between coaches and parents for the sake of our student-athletes. The partnership between parents and coaches in athletics is most effective when both parties work together to create a positive, supportive environment for student-athletes. When parents take on the role of support, their focus is on reinforcing the values, discipline, and skills their child learns from their coach while maintaining open communication and mutual respect.

5. Consistent Program Development: We seek to strengthen our current athletic programs and add new sports as PCCA grows. Consistent development in PCCA Athletics focuses on strengthening the program as a whole, fostering growth among all teams and student-athletes, and striving for continual improvement that reflects excellence, unity, and Christ-centered values.
