Coach Velton Kennedy is in his 1st season as the Head Basketball Coach at Providence Academy. Prior to the 2022-2023 season, Coach Kennedy served at the helm of the Patriot Jr. High Basketball program for two seasons, where he led the teams to multiple twenty-win seasons.
Before his time at Providence, Kennedy was on staff with the University of Arkansas Basketball program from 2014-2019 as both a Student Manager and then a Graduate Assistant under Coach Eric Musselman.
A native of Little Rock, Kennedy graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Sports Management in 2017 and a Master's degree in Operations Management in 2019. In addition to his work with the Razorback's Men's Basketball, Kennedy has volunteered with organizations including the Boys & Girls Club, Arkansas Athletes Outreach (AAO), Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, Samaritan's Feet International, and the Arkansas Dream Center.
