After high school, Coach Grimes played college basketball at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith for two years on a full scholarship. She also played as a walk-on at JBU and Hendrix. And after college, Grimes played one season on a semi-pro team out of Little Rock.

When asked about joining the coaching at Providence, Grimes answered, "God provided me with the opportunity to work at Providence. I love Providence because I can combine my love for the Lord and my love for basketball into one job."
